Urgent requirement: brick and block layer (New York)

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a brick and block layer in New York County, New York. On a typical shift you will installing damp-proof courses, lintels and cavity trays; forming arches, piers and reveals around openings; buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge; building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation; erecting and working off trestles and scaffold lifts; cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder. Requirements: • Proven experience laying facing and engineering bricks • Able to read construction drawings and setting-out marks $2,600 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Meals and transport allowance provided. Six days a week, one day off. Walk-in interviews this week.
