Immediate opening: we are hiring a tig welder in South Lanarkshire, Scotland. The role involves: • Feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle • Carry out 6G pipe welds where required • Run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints • Back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring) • Read the WPS and weld to the specified parameters • Set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal Ideal candidate: • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through • Own basic hand tools and PPE • Proven experience with TIG/GTAW on stainless and aluminium Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough. Part-time with flexible hours. Walk-in interviews this week.
