Join our team: steel fixing chargehand (New York)

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a steel fixing chargehand in Putnam County, New York. The job is at a precast concrete yard. The role involves: • Cut rebar to length with a bar cutter or angle grinder • Lap and splice bars to the specified lap length • Lift and land prefabricated cages with the crane and banksman • Fit mechanical couplers where shown on the drawings • Install chairs and bar supports to hold up the top mat • Assemble column and beam cages on the bench Requirements: • Own basic tools such as pliers, tie hook, tape and level • Valid site safety card and PPE (helmet, boots, gloves) • Aware of concrete cover and tolerance requirements 2+ years on the tools preferred.
