Join our team: we are hiring an argon welding operator in City and Borough of Wrangell, Alaska. The job is at a pipe-fitting and pressure-vessel shop. On the job you will handle: • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal • Tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run • Clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding • Set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks • Keep the arc length and travel speed consistent • TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer What we are looking for: • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols • Able to pass a weld test on the spot At least 3 year(s) in a similar role. Pay around $3,400 per month, based on your experience. Part-time with flexible hours. Walk-in interviews this week.
