Now hiring: we are hiring a gantry crane operator in Bland County, Virginia. You will be based on a bridge and infrastructure project. What we are looking for: • Good depth perception and hand-eye coordination • Understanding of hand and radio signals • Proven experience on mobile, tower or overhead cranes The role involves: • Work out the load weight and the lifting radius • Read and interpret the load chart before every lift • Rig and sling loads using slings, shackles and spreader beams • Fill in the daily logbook and raise defect reports • Watch the load moment indicator (LMI) and stay within rated capacity • Set up the outriggers and level the crane on firm ground Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. Six days a week, one day off. On-the-job training and a clear path to grow. We offer $5,500 per month plus benefits. Walk-in interviews this week.
