Foundry labourer — Borough of Stockport

Join our team: we are hiring a foundry labourer in Borough of Stockport, England. The job is at a brass and bronze foundry. What we are looking for: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling The role involves: • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
