Now hiring: we are hiring a safety officer in San Juan County, New Mexico. You will work in a chemical processing unit. Day-to-day duties: • Audit housekeeping and barricading around excavations and open edges • Stop unsafe work and brief the supervisor on corrective action • Run fire drills and check extinguishers, hydrants and alarm points • Inspect scaffolding, full-body harnesses and lifelines for work at height • Take gas readings with a multi-gas detector before confined-space entry Requirements: • Strong record-keeping and incident-reporting skills • Valid first aid and basic firefighting training • Physically fit for full-site inspections on foot At least 2 year(s) in a similar role.
