Join our team: we are hiring an abattoir worker in Yakutat City and Borough, Alaska. You will be based at a busy retail butcher's shop. You will dress the chilled counter and rotate stock by date; keep HACCP hygiene records and sanitise the block and tools; debone shoulders, legs and loins with a boning knife; portion steaks, chops and cutlets to the ordered weights; keep halal cuts separated and clearly handled; weigh, price and label cuts for the display case. You should have: • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required • Comfortable working in cold rooms and chillers Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. Rotating shifts.
