Bar bender and fixer wanted in San Mateo County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a bar bender and fixer in San Mateo County, California. Requirements: • Own basic tools such as pliers, tie hook, tape and level • Proven experience as a steel fixer on building or civil sites • Sound knowledge of lap lengths, cover and bar spacing The role involves: • Lay and tie mesh for slabs and ground-bearing floors • Cut rebar to length with a bar cutter or angle grinder • Read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules • Check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour • Lift and land prefabricated cages with the crane and banksman • Keep the rebar stacked, tagged and free of mud and loose rust We offer $4,100 per month plus benefits.
