Great opportunity: we are hiring a brick mason in Bamberg County, South Carolina. The job is at a renovation and extension job. Day-to-day duties: • Forming arches, piers and reveals around openings • Pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints • Spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel • Mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser • Building the corners (leads) first and racking back the courses • Erecting and working off trestles and scaffold lifts Requirements: • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) • Physically fit for lifting bricks and blocks all day At least 6 year(s) in a similar role.
