Vacancy available: TIG welder (New Mexico)

Now hiring: we are hiring a TIG welder in Lincoln County, New Mexico. You will be based at an automotive body and exhaust shop. Ideal candidate: • Good eyesight for fine sheet-metal work • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection Day-to-day duties: • Set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks • Inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut • Weld thin stainless steel sheet without burning through • Run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal • Read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing At least 4 year(s) in a similar role.
