Great opportunity: we are hiring a stainless steel welder in Essex County, Massachusetts. You will be based on an industrial construction site. Requirements: • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection The role involves set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal; back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring); set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator; strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode; control heat input so thin sheet does not warp; read the WPS and weld to the specified parameters.
