Vacancy available: we are hiring a steel fixing chargehand in Des Moines County, Iowa. Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working at height and in deep excavations • Able to read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules • Sound knowledge of lap lengths, cover and bar spacing The role involves assemble column and beam cages on the bench; fit mechanical couplers where shown on the drawings; place main bars and distribution bars to the marked spacing; lay and tie mesh for slabs and ground-bearing floors; check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour; lap and splice bars to the specified lap length.
