Refrigeration technician — Kodiak Island Borough

Now hiring: we are hiring a refrigeration technician in Kodiak Island Borough, Alaska. On the job you will handle: • Check superheat and subcooling and trim the charge • Fault-find control boards and defrost timers • Charge systems with refrigerant (R134a, R410a, R404a) to the correct weight • Recover refrigerant gas before opening a sealed system • Braze copper pipework and joints with an oxy-acetylene torch • Trace leaks with an electronic detector and soap solution Ideal candidate: • Able to read wiring diagrams and pressure-temperature charts • Physically fit to lift compressors and carry ladders • Valid driving licence for field call-outs Performance bonus on top of base pay.
