Immediate opening: we are hiring a fettler in Franklin County, Pennsylvania. Ideal candidate: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Basic grinding and fettling skills You will skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring.
