Immediate opening: we are hiring a foundry labourer in Barry County, Michigan. The job is in the fettling and dressing shop. Day to day you will operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces. Requirements: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
