Brick and block layer — Lauderdale County

Join our team: we are hiring a brick and block layer in Lauderdale County, Alabama. You will work on a busy housing site. On a typical shift you will pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints; building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation; brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go; buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge; mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser. Ideal candidate: • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) • Reliable timekeeping and able to hit daily brick targets • CSCS card or willingness to obtain one 4+ years on the tools preferred. $2,800 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
