Now hiring: we are hiring a gtaw welder in LeFlore County, Oklahoma. You will be based at a busy sheet-metal workshop. Ideal candidate: • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day Day to day you will set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator; grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper; select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job; strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode; run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints.
