Immediate opening: pipe tig welder (Illinois)

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a pipe tig welder in Mercer County, Illinois. You will be based at a precision engineering workshop. Requirements: • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and at height • Proven experience with TIG/GTAW on stainless and aluminium On a typical shift you will grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper; set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator; select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job; control heat input so thin sheet does not warp; carry out 6G pipe welds where required; weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges. 4+ years on the tools preferred.
