Sample machinist • Awka North, Anambra State

Great opportunity: we are hiring a sample machinist in Awka North, Anambra State. You will be based at a busy garment factory. You should have: • Able to read a spec sheet and follow a sewing operation breakdown • Quality-conscious with an eye for puckers, skipped stitches and uneven seams • 2+ years on industrial sewing machines in a garment factory Your main tasks: • Match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching • Set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers • Stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance • Sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required • Change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation • Inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. Full-time with occasional weekends. We offer ₦450 per hour plus benefits. Walk-in interviews this week.
