Ideal candidate: • Proven experience with TIG/GTAW on stainless and aluminium • Able to read isometric and fabrication drawings • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through Day to day you will carry out 6G pipe welds where required; inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion; weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions; feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle; grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper; strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode. $4,900 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
