We are recruiting: we are hiring a head butcher in Black Hawk County, Iowa. You will work in a supermarket meat department. Requirements: • Food hygiene / HACCP certificate • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required Day-to-day duties: • Trim fat, sinew and silver skin off the cuts • Sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone • Keep halal cuts separated and clearly handled • Keep HACCP hygiene records and sanitise the block and tools • Run the band saw to cut cleanly through bone Full-time with occasional weekends.
