Requirements: • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and at height • Own basic hand tools and PPE • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight On a typical shift you will set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator; control heat input so thin sheet does not warp; weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions; set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal; run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints; prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run.
