Requirements: • Good eyesight for fine sheet-metal work • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection Day-to-day duties: • Read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing • TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer • Run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec • Feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool • Grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish At least 6 year(s) in a similar role.
