Meat cutter — Mercer County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a meat cutter in Mercer County, Illinois. You will work at an abattoir or slaughterhouse. Ideal candidate: • Confident knife skills and safe blade handling • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required • Clean, presentable and friendly at the counter Day to day you will vacuum-pack and wrap customer orders; take customer orders and advise on cuts and cooking; trim fat, sinew and silver skin off the cuts; monitor chiller and freezer temperatures to keep the cold chain; dress the chilled counter and rotate stock by date. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Full-time, day shift. Walk-in interviews this week.
