You should have: • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and at height On the job you will handle: • Read the WPS and weld to the specified parameters • Prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run • Set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion • Set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator • Select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job Rotating shifts.
