Immediate opening: we are hiring a machine operator (earthworks) in Inyo County, California. The role involves swap buckets and attachments — rock breaker, grab, ripper, auger; excavate trenches for water, sewer and cable runs; dig and trim drainage channels and attenuation ponds; backfill trenches and compact the fill in layers; work safely around buried services with a banksman or spotter; carry out daily greasing and check hydraulic oil, coolant and fuel levels. What we are looking for: • Comfortable with GPS or laser machine control • Able to read drawings, setting-out pegs and level pegs • Own PPE — safety boots, hi-vis and hard hat 2+ years on the tools preferred.
