You should have: • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles • Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces Your main tasks: • Guide loads through tight openings into their final position • Direct the crane operator with standard hand signals and radio • Calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift • Attach wire rope and chain slings to loads using shackles and hooks Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
