Now hiring: we are hiring a gas meter installer in Monroe County, Iowa. The job is at a busy gas installation company. Your main tasks: • Thread, ream and join black iron pipe with pipe wrenches and thread sealant • Run polyethylene (PE) service pipe and electrofusion-weld the joints • Read isometric drawings and mark out the pipe routes • Test combustion and flue gases with a flue gas analyser • Lay and route steel and copper gas pipe runs to the appliance points • Fit flexible connection hoses and bayonet fittings to the appliances Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces • Physically fit for lifting pipe, meters and cylinders • Valid gas fitter's licence and Gas Safe (or local) registration Pay around $22 per hour, based on your experience.
