We are recruiting: we are hiring a groundsman in Mecklenburg County, Virginia. You will work at a private estate garden. Requirements: • Good knowledge of common plants, shrubs and seasonal planting • Understanding of pruning and watering schedules • Able to safely operate mowers, strimmers and hedge trimmers Your main tasks: • Repot nursery stock and pot on cuttings • Maintain compost heaps and the potting shed • Spray pesticides and fungicides to control pests and disease • Weed flower beds and borders by hand and with a hoe • Check and adjust sprinkler timers and irrigation heads • Sharpen, clean and oil hand tools and mower blades Six days a week, one day off.
