Immediate opening: scaffolding charge hand (Connecticut)

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a scaffolding charge hand in Greater Bridgeport Planning Region, Connecticut. You will be based at a shipyard. On a typical shift you will erect tube-and-fitting and system scaffolds such as Cuplok and Kwikstage; read scaffold drawings and work to the agreed loading class; plumb the standards and level the ledgers with a spirit level; fit guardrails, mid-rails and toe boards to every working platform; hoist tubes, boards and fittings up by gin wheel and rope; tie the scaffold back to the building with through-ties and anchors. You should have: • Physically fit for repeated heavy lifting of tubes and boards • Knowledge of safe loading, bracing and tie patterns 6+ years on the tools preferred.
