Requirements: • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles • Ability to read lift plans and rigging diagrams On the job you will handle: • Select the correct slings, shackles and chains for each load's weight • Check sling angles to stay within the working load limit • Guide loads through tight openings into their final position • Attach wire rope and chain slings to loads using shackles and hooks • Tag and quarantine any damaged or out-of-date rigging gear • Carry out daily checks on cranes, hoists and lifting tackle Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
