You will prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run; carry out 6G pipe welds where required; inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion; run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints; strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode; select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job. You should have: • Proven experience with TIG/GTAW on stainless and aluminium • Own basic hand tools and PPE • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection 2+ years on the tools preferred.
