Immediate opening: we are hiring an argon welder in Jones County, North Carolina. Ideal candidate: • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through • Able to read isometric and fabrication drawings Day-to-day duties: • Run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints • Grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper • Feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle • Strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode • Set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator • Back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring) 5+ years on the tools preferred.
