Urgent requirement: we are hiring a trainee butcher in Decatur County, Georgia. The job is in a meat processing plant. What we are looking for: • Confident knife skills and safe blade handling • Clean, presentable and friendly at the counter • Able to use a band saw, grinder and sausage filler Day-to-day duties: • Vacuum-pack and wrap customer orders • Break down beef, mutton and chicken carcasses into primal cuts • Sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone • Portion steaks, chops and cutlets to the ordered weights • Season and marinate meat on request • Monitor chiller and freezer temperatures to keep the cold chain Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
