Immediate opening: we are hiring a pipe tig welder in Choctaw County, Alabama. The job is at a busy sheet-metal workshop. The role involves inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion; prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run; weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges; clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding; set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal; select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job. What we are looking for: • Own basic hand tools and PPE • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through 3+ years on the tools preferred. Pay around $5,100 per month, based on your experience.
