Now hiring: we are hiring a trainee butcher in Ibadan South West, Oyo State. You will work at an abattoir or slaughterhouse. You will monitor chiller and freezer temperatures to keep the cold chain; take customer orders and advise on cuts and cooking; keep halal cuts separated and clearly handled; break down beef, mutton and chicken carcasses into primal cuts; trim fat, sinew and silver skin off the cuts; weigh, price and label cuts for the display case. You should have: • Able to use a band saw, grinder and sausage filler • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required Performance bonus on top of base pay. Six days a week, one day off.
