Vacancy available: confectioner (Connecticut)

Immediate opening: we are hiring a confectioner in Northwest Hills Planning Region, Connecticut. You will be based in a hotel pastry kitchen. The role involves prove dough in the proofer at the right temperature and humidity; shape loaves, rolls, baguettes and buns by hand; rotate stock and follow FIFO on raw materials; load and unload the deck oven with a peel; check finished products for colour, crumb and weight. Requirements: • 2+ years' experience as a baker • Familiar with deck, rack and convection ovens • Basic cake decorating and piping skills 4+ years on the tools preferred.
