Gtaw welder — City and Borough of Birmingham

We are recruiting: we are hiring a gtaw welder in City and Borough of Birmingham, England. You will inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion; select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job; prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run; set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal; back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring); run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints. Requirements: • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through • Valid welder certification (ASME IX / ISO 9606 an advantage) Full-time with occasional weekends.
