Now hiring: we are hiring a steel erection rigger in Franklin County, Indiana. You will be based at a container port. Requirements: • Confident with standard crane hand signals • Physically fit to handle heavy chains, slings and shackles • Valid rigging / lifting certificate or banksman-slinger ticket On the job you will handle: • Read lift plans and method statements before starting • Set up spreader bars and lifting beams for long or awkward loads • Select the correct slings, shackles and chains for each load's weight • Tag and quarantine any damaged or out-of-date rigging gear • Calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
