Immediate opening: we are hiring a precision welder in Central Bedfordshire, England. Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances • Own basic hand tools and PPE • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day Day to day you will select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job; back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring); weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges; strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode; set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator; inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion. 3+ years on the tools preferred.
