Port container crane operator — City of Winchester

Great opportunity: we are hiring a port container crane operator in City of Winchester, Virginia. You will be based at a precast concrete yard. You should have: • Physically fit to climb ladders and work long shifts • Sound knowledge of rigging and slinging • Valid crane operator licence or certificate (CPCS, NPORS or local equivalent) Day-to-day duties: • Park up the crane, stow the jib and isolate at end of shift • Climb and inspect the tower crane mast and tie-ins • Keep a safe distance from overhead power lines • Rig and sling loads using slings, shackles and spreader beams • Fit the counterweights and check the ground bearing pressure Full-time with occasional weekends.
