Foundry operative wanted in Wayne County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a foundry operative in Wayne County, New York. The job is at an aluminium die-casting plant. On the job you will handle: • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges Ideal candidate: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
