Civil works labourer • Jefferson County, Iowa

Now hiring: we are hiring a civil works labourer in Jefferson County, Iowa. The job is on a commercial building project. Day-to-day duties: • Mix concrete and mortar to the correct ratio, by hand or in a pan mixer • Carry bricks, cement bags and sand up to the masons on site • Set out levels with line and plumb under the mason's direction • Fix and strip shuttering and formwork for beams and columns • Pour and spread concrete, then compact it with a poker vibrator You should have: • Wear safety helmet, boots and gloves at all times • Site safety induction or labour card an advantage • Punctual and ready to do overtime when a pour demands it Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
