Great opportunity: we are hiring a bar bender and fixer in South Tyneside, England. You will work at a rebar fabrication workshop. You should have: • Sound knowledge of lap lengths, cover and bar spacing • Confident tying with a tie hook and handling binding wire • Own basic tools such as pliers, tie hook, tape and level Your main tasks: • Place main bars and distribution bars to the marked spacing • Keep the rebar stacked, tagged and free of mud and loose rust • Form stirrups, links and hooks to the correct dimensions • Install chairs and bar supports to hold up the top mat • Set out starter bars and column dowels for the next lift Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
