Vacancy available: we are hiring a meat cutter in South Ayrshire, Scotland. You will work at an abattoir or slaughterhouse. You will sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone; weigh, price and label cuts for the display case; keep halal cuts separated and clearly handled; portion steaks, chops and cutlets to the ordered weights; monitor chiller and freezer temperatures to keep the cold chain; dress the chilled counter and rotate stock by date. You should have: • 2+ years experience working as a butcher • Quick and accurate on the weighing scales and order maths 4+ years on the tools preferred. £95 per day, negotiable for the right hands.
