The role involves: • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity Requirements: • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings 3+ years on the tools preferred.
