Ladle pourer — Sumter County

Now hiring: we are hiring a ladle pourer in Sumter County, South Carolina. You will work in the melting bay of a steel foundry. What we are looking for: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings On the job you will handle: • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
