We are recruiting: fabricator-welder (Scotland)

Immediate opening: we are hiring a fabricator-welder in Eilean Siar, Scotland. You will work at a steel fabrication workshop. On a typical shift you will bevel and grind the joint edges clean before welding; tack components to the jig and check the fit-up against the drawing; read fabrication drawings and weld symbols; set the wire feed speed and voltage to suit the plate thickness; clear spatter and slag, then wire-brush the finished bead; check welds for porosity, undercut and lack of penetration. What we are looking for: • Able to read weld symbols and fabrication drawings • ITI in welder trade or equivalent • Able to pass a 3G/4G plate test Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough. £18 per hour, negotiable for the right hands. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Rotating shifts. Contact us to fix an interview.
