Immediate opening: rebar worker (Virginia)

Great opportunity: we are hiring a rebar worker in City of Petersburg, Virginia. You will be based at a rebar fabrication workshop. Day to day you will assemble column and beam cages on the bench; tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers; cut rebar to length with a bar cutter or angle grinder; read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules; install chairs and bar supports to hold up the top mat; set out starter bars and column dowels for the next lift. You should have: • Proven experience as a steel fixer on building or civil sites • Comfortable working at height and in deep excavations • Valid site safety card and PPE (helmet, boots, gloves) 5+ years on the tools preferred.
